PHARMACOGENETIC TESTING

We offer pharmacogenetic testing to help ensure your medications are tailored to your unique needs. This testing allows the doctor to identify potential medication issues before they arise, helping speed up your recovery and reduce the risk of adverse events or side effects from your prescriptions. Everyone reacts differently to medications. Some people experience significant improvements in their health, while others may see little to no change or may even experience side effects. One of the key factors influencing how you respond to medications is your genetic makeup. Thanks to recent scientific advancements, it's now possible to test the genes that impact how you may respond to certain medications—before you ever take them.

Pharmacogenetic testing examines the genetic factors that influence how well you might respond to various medications, helping determine whether you are at an increased risk of your medication not working or causing unwanted side effects. With this information, your doctor can make evidence-based decisions about the best medication and dosage for you. Once the genetic analysis is complete, a proprietary bioinformatics program is used to compare your genetic findings with other factors that could affect your results.

The test is simple: a DNA sample is collected by swabbing the inside of your cheek—no bloodwork or needles required. The sample is then sent for analysis, and results are typically available within a week. We recommend scheduling an appointment to review your report, as the results are quite detailed.
